1. In what way does my Print use, challenge or the conventions of the real media products?
I have tried to keep as much to the conventions as i can. i also added my own little twist by trying to put loads more puctures on and more colours. there are many "Rules" to making a magazine like you must stick to the chosen genre of music and cannot change grnre halfway through the magazine and that you have to use a few images. But with my magazine i only used one image on my front page
2. How does my media product represent particular social groups?
My print represents a teenager social group from age 14-26 because teenagers are into rock music as it is one of the popular genres of music in the 21st century and some teenagers try to play rock instruments e.g. Rock guitar, bass guitar and drums
In my print I have a character named slappy who lived on the streets and performed on high streets for money and has become a famous rockstar and in the pictures on my print his body language shows that he can't believe that he went from poor performer to rich rockstar and full of happiness and excitement
3.what kind of media institution might distribute my print and why?
I think if a media institution would take my print and sell it for themselves then it would be someone like ICP Magazines because they make popular a popular music magazine NME as they specialise in rock magazines they would just have to add their own bits to make it look like theirs as it gets straight to the story and contains alot of pictures for interest as they know what the music magazines would have to be like and make it popular and a big sale
4. Who would be the target audience for my print?
My main target audience for magazine would be most teenagers who enjoy walking around with headphones listening to loud rock music who would be roughly 14-26 year olds, no specific gender and any nationality and would listen to bands like
Fall out boy, avenged sevenfold , dragonforce, papa roach and linkin park
These teenagers would probably spend money on magazines, music on iTunes or headphones and iPods
5. What elements of my print would attract the attention of customers?
Customers might buy my magazine because it is a new magazine so people would try it out to see if it is good and also it has lots of pictures on the cover so it looks appealing for rock band fans and they would be interested and also it advertises prizes and competitions which would make people interested in the magazine.
6.what have I learnt about technology by doing this subject?
Taking a good photo would have to include making sure the model is ready, make sure you get good poses from the model, make sure that there is nothing distracting in the background or in the way
Editing the photo includes making sure the background would relate to the main picture, not cropping parts of the model off, making sure there are no unwanted parts of the picture and to make sue it looks sensible.
Putting the item from photoshop to publisher is one of the easiest things to do on the computer as you just click save as then change photoshop to image jpeg then when it saved go on publisher click insert scroll to image then go to from file then find the image you saved and click it then click open and you will see it.
7.from doing the preliminary task what have I learnt from that task to now?
I have learnt that there is a big difference between making a newspaper and a music magazine newspaper I have to worry about columns and picture (if any)but for magazine you need to plan where everything goes where the columns go where the pictures go, how many pictures are going on and the size of the picture and font
